AZ GOLF Foundation Announces Board Of Directors
[Phoenix, Ariz.] September 28, 2026 — The AZ GOLF Foundation is excited to announce the five members who will join President of AZ GOLF, John Souza,...
The AZ GOLF Foundation is doing its part to strengthen golf and the communities around it so both can continue to thrive across Arizona.
Following the Foundation’s relaunch in August, AZ GOLF’s Head of Foundation & Stakeholder Relation, Alex Tsakiris, shares five things you may not know about the AZ GOLF Foundation and its efforts to making a lasting impact on the game.
The AZ GOLF Foundation is a 501(c)(3) which operates independently from AZ GOLF. With its own Board of Directors, programs and community involvement, the Foundation is dedicated to expanding golf’s reach and impact.
The AZ GOLF Foundation’s mission is to expand opportunities for more people to access, experience and thrive in the game of golf across Arizona.
To accomplish its mission, the Foundation has identified three pillars to live by:
Access — The Foundation is dedicated to opening doors to the game of golf for all, highlighting opportunities for players of every age, ability and background.
Pathways — The Foundation is committed to supporting programs that help golfers reach their full potential. Through scholarships, mentorship and the funding of programs, the Foundation will expand pathways for the next generation to compete, grow and succeed at the highest levels of the game.
Stewardship — The Foundation will steward the game of golf by investing in the people, programs and places that make Arizona golf special. The Arizona golf community goes beyond the people who play and support the game. It includes the facilities, organizations and leaders that work every day to enhance golf in the state.
The Foundation currently focuses its efforts on four key programs, each serving a different need within Arizona’s golf community:
Youth On Course — Providing youth with access to life-changing opportunities through golf. It is made possible by ensuring members have access to play rounds of golf for $5 or less, while also offering opportunities to succeed through college scholarships, mentorships, internships and more.
Adaptive Golf — Creating opportunities for individuals with physical or neurological disabilities to experience the game through golf clinics and competition. Participants of all skill levels are welcome, including those with no prior golf experience.
Team Arizona — Supporting Arizona’s most promising junior golfers as a branch of the United States National Development Program. Each year, Arizona’s most promising golf talent, age 13-18, will be selected to develop their skills while receiving more support, training and financial assistance than ever before.
AZ GOLF Industry Fellows — A career-focused experience designed to introduce college students to the many professional opportunities available within the golf industry.
Every gift creates opportunity — for a junior golfer, an aspiring competitive golfer, an adaptive golf participant or someone discovering the game for the first time. Regardless of age or ability, your generosity makes golf possible for more people across Arizona.
