PAYSON, ARIZ. – For the second year in a row, Robin Krapfl + Leigh Klasse (+2) won the 2024 Arizona Women’s Scotch Play Tournament. The tournament is played in a 36-hole Chapman style format; partners both drive from the tee, each partner plays a second shot with the other’s ball after which a choice is made as to the ball with which the hole is to be completed, continuing with alternate shots until the ball is holed.

RESULTS

After the first round, which was played at The Rim Golf Club, Krapfl + Klasse found themselves in a three-way tie for first place at one-over par. The second round moved across the street to the Golf Club at Chaparral Pines, where Krapfl + Klasse and Corey Weworski + Jamie Hoffman separated themselves from the pack. Neck-and-neck for most of the day, Krapfl + Klasse’s birdie on 17 made the difference in their one-stroke victory.

For Klasse, this marks her second win of the year as she captured the Arizona Senior Women’s Amateur Championship in August. Krapfl, a former AGA Senior Women’s Player of the Year, earned her first win of the year with the Scotch Play win.
