Key Holes to Watch at the 2025 Arizona Women’s Amateur Championship

From July 24–26, the 2025 Arizona Women’s Amateur Championship will take over the legendary TPC Scottsdale – Champions Course, where precision, nerves, and course management will be put to the test. Before the action begins, we’re highlighting a few of the course’s most challenging holes – the ones that will likely shape this week's leaderboard.

Hole 1
Hole 1

Hole 1 is a very difficult starting hole. Along with the first tee nerves, you have water left and Out of Bounds right, making it a tight landing zone where most players will play a hybrid or fairway wood from the first tee and leave driver in the bag.

Hole 5.1

Hole 5

Hole 5 provides players with a big sweeping dogleg left around some tricky desert terrain. Players will try to shorten the hole by taking on the dogleg, but if they cut off more than they can chew, they may end up in a difficult situation. An elevated green with some excellent bunkering puts a close on this difficult test.

Hole 9.1Hole 9.3

Hole 9

Hole 9 will have a few opportunities for players to head into the final 9 holes with a head of steam or, for those less fortunate, an opportunity to simply hold on for dear life. A small pond protects the left side of this green and some subtle breaks could lead to some tricky putts.

15.3

Hole 15

Hole 15 is a short par 4 that will offer plenty of variety with multiple teeing areas in use during the tournament. Long hitters will be tempted to go for the green from the tee, while a more level headed player may opt to hit an iron to the wide part of the fairway for an easy wedge shot in.

Hole 18

Hole 18 is one of the toughest finishing holes in the state. A longer par 4 with a large pond covering the left side of the landing zone and up to the green, while desert runs the entire right side of the hole. Some terrific bunker placement shrinks the typical landing zone, requiring players to be more precise from the tee.
