SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - Arizona Golf Association solidifies Phoenix Country Club and Grayhawk Golf Club for 2024 Men’s and Women’s State Am Championship venues, respectively.
The AGA holds fond appreciation for both facilities as they continuously look to provide Arizona amateurs with the finest of playing conditions. “Hosting the Am at courses of such stature not only delivers but exceeds the value we look to provide to competitors”, says Joe Foley, AGA Executive Director.
Phoenix Country Club and Grayhawk Golf Club are no strangers to such events. In fact, Phoenix CC hosted the first ever Arizona Amateur Championship back in 1923. Dan Budzius, Phoenix CC Chief Operating Officer and General Manager, explains, “It felt only right to host the Arizona Amateur Championship at Phoenix CC, bringing it back home to where it all began”.
Women's play at Grayhawk’s Talon course will take place from June 3rd through June 5th, 2024. “The entire Grayhawk team is proud to host the Women’s State Amateur. Talon is in great shape for the championship, and it will be interesting to see what the competitors shoot”, said Travis McCutchan, Director of Golf for Grayhawk Golf Club.
Men's play at Phoenix Country Club will take place from June 17th through June 22nd, 2024. Winners of each will earn exemption to the U.S. Amateur and U.S. Women’s Amateur Championships, hosted at Hazeltine National Golf Club in Chaska, MN (Men’s) and Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa (Women’s).
