SCOTTSDALE, ARIZ. -- 54 holes were not enough to decide a winner of the 2025 Arizona Women's Mid-Amateur Championship. After starting the final round three shots back, two-time defending champion Kirsty Hodgkins (+21) rallied with two late birdies to force a playoff with Robin Krapfl, and sealed the win on the first extra hole.
“I’m going to be honest, I don’t quite believe it, simply because of how I played this week,” Hodgkins said of capturing her third consecutive Women’s Mid-Amateur Championship. “But it’s very, very exciting and I’m very grateful that I’m a three-time champion.”

Kirsty Hodgkins hits a tee shot during the final round of the 2025 Arizona Women's Mid-Amateur Championship.
After missing a chance to win on No. 18, Hodgkins ran into trouble off the tee in the playoff. She snap-hooked her 5-wood left – which, according to her, happened each time she took a 5-wood off the tee in round three. Luckily, the ball was in rough left of the fairway; she found the middle of the fairway with her recovery shot. Both Hodgkins and Krapfl hit approach shots that landed on the green but rolled off, setting them up with nearly identical chips. Hodgkins ended up with a longer putt than Krapfl, but sank it. That forced Krapfl to make high-pressure putt to extend the playoff; she was unable to convert, sealing the win for Hodgkins.
Across the field, scores were unusually high. In Hodgkins’ case, she attributed it to how challenging The Boulders Golf Club’s North Course is, and implementing a swing change during the championship.
“The course, while it is in great condition, is very, very difficult,” Hodgkins said. “I hit my driver about two times this week, so it’s very much about placement and course management. If you’re even a little bit off, you’re basically just fighting for bogey. It’s a very great test of golf, but it’s very difficult.”
In addition to Hodgkins win as the Overall Gross champion, Mia Yohe (+5, total par to net) earned a Kachina as the Overall Net champion.
