Beau Ellington and Alyssa Rigby might be young— the youngest players in the field at just 13 and 14 years old, respectively—but they played like seasoned pros at the 2025 Arizona Women’s Four-Ball Championship, hosted at Briarwood Country Club. Trailing by one stroke heading into the second and final round, Ellington and Rigby delivered clutch shots when it mattered most, rallying to claim their first AZ GOLF championship at 10-under par.
Knowing that they would have to catch two talented players in front of them in Natalie Yen and Asia Young (No. 9 and 29 in the American Junior Golf Association's player rankings), Ellington and Rigby kept their comeback strategy simple: make putts and have confidence.

Yen and Young picked up right where they left off on Saturday, extending their lead to two strokes by the turn. But the tables turned quickly on the 10th hole, when Beau Ellington tied things up with an eagle. From 78 yards out, she pulled a 54-degree wedge, landed it on the green, and watched it roll straight into the cup; it was the pair’s second eagle of the week, after Rigby made one of her own on the fourth hole during round one.

“It was, for sure, a little nerve wracking,” Rigby said of going into the final few holes. “We just try to keep each other calm, we talked about things that aren’t golf and not try to focus too hard on leading.”
Their strategy to relax their minds paid off. All tied up, the final holes had a match play feeling to them. Yen and Rigby went birdie-for-birdie on 12 and 13. But Ellington settled the score, dropping back-to-back birdies on 16 and 17; her putt from the fringe on 17 was the dagger.
“We just tried to be very confident in ourselves, knowing that (Asia and Natalie) are great players too,” Ellington said of the match play feeling down the stretch.
In addition to Ellington and Rigby’s win as the Overall Gross champions, Lisa Schmid and Laura Jones earned a Kachina as the Overall Net champions. Another highlight from the championship came during Round One, when Jennifer Niebling aced the 11th hole from 160 yards out with a 5 hybrid.
