Souza’s Presidency Officially Confirmed at AZ GOLF’s Annual Meeting
SCOTTSDALE, ARIZ. – John Souza has officially been named President of AZ GOLF, succeeding Tim Brown, who completed his two-year term as of the 2025 Annual Meeting. AZ GOLF is grateful to Brown for his contributions to the Executive Committee and years of dedication to the Association.
With 44 years of service at PING combined with his time as a member of the AZ GOLF Executive Committee, most recently serving as 1st Vice President under Brown, Souza brings invaluable insight and experience into his presidency.
As President, Souza will guide the direction of AZ GOLF, playing a lead role in the Association’s strategic growth and shaping its direction for the coming years. As a key partner of the Arizona Alliance for Golf (AAG), his leadership will strengthen the Association’s relationships with key stakeholders in the state working to benefit the AZ GOLF membership and the broader golf community.
“I am humbled and honored to have been elected President of AZ GOLF,” Souza said. “I would like to thank Tim Brown as outgoing President for his efforts and steady hand over the past two years. It is hard not to be excited for what’s to come for AZ GOLF. There are some great collaborative opportunities ahead of us as the staff gets ready to move into Golf House at Papago GC with the other allied organizations in the region. We are embarking on a strategic plan initiative and the team is revved up for another great event season. It’s a good time to be part of AZ GOLF.”
“We are extremely fortunate to have John as AZ GOLF’s new president,” said AZ GOLF Executive Director Catherine Carmignani. “In this next chapter for AZ GOLF, John’s enthusiasm and commitment to growing the game in Arizona will be crucial as we continue to foster an engaged community around golf in Arizona.”
