AZ GOLF is proud to announce a series of new hires and one internal advancement which reflect the organization’s continued commitment to growth, innovation and service to the game across Arizona. These changes strengthen multiple departments and position the Association for continued success into the future.

Angela Mead — Strategic Projects & Administration Manager

In her role, Mead will oversee high-priority initiatives tied directly to the Association’s strategic plan. She will help ensure projects are executed efficiently and effectively, while also supporting staff across departments in their day-to-day operations.

Originally from Redwood City, California, Mead brings a strong background in athletics and administration. A former collegiate softball player at Menlo College, she most recently served as Business Operations Manager for Sun Devils Athletics.

“Angela is a highly effective thought partner,” said Catherine Carmignani, AZ GOLF Executive Director. “She brings strong operational expertise and shares our enthusiasm for advancing our mission. Her leadership will be essential as we execute our strategic plan and continue to drive growth and impact.”

Tom Skulski — Content & Communications Manager

Skulski joins AZ GOLF with a diverse background in journalism and digital media. He arrives from Steamboat Springs, Colorado, where he spent three years as Sports Reporter and Digital Engagement Editor for the local newspaper, The Steamboat Pilot & Today. His experience also includes writing for Sports Illustrated’s FanSided and SB Nation.

In his role, Skulski will support the Marketing & Communications team through storytelling, content creation, and strategic communications initiatives aligned with the Association’s broader goals.

“Tom’s passion for storytelling and curious intellect bring a unique and impactful skillset to the communications function at AZ GOLF,” said Jason Knybel, AZ GOLF Head of Marketing & Communications.

Tori Schuller — Marketing & Communications Coordinator

Relocating from the Pacific Northwest, Schuller joins AZ GOLF’s Marketing & Communications staff. Her introduction to the golf industry began at Useless Bay Country Club in Washington, where she worked in the pro shop while competing on the women’s golf team at Linfield University.

Following graduation, Schuller gained valuable experience as a USGA P.J. Boatwright intern with Mass Golf before continuing in a similar role with AZ GOLF.

“Tori brings her love for the game of golf directly into her role supporting the marketing and communications functions of the Association and we are excited to see both her contributions and growth here at AZ GOLF,” Knybel said.

Kylie Shoemake — Assistant Director of Competitions

Shoemake has been promoted to Assistant Director of Competitions, recognizing her continued impact and leadership within the Rules & Competitions department. A former Division I golfer at Valparaiso University, Shoemake has remained deeply connected to the game through internships with the AJGA and USGA before joining AZ GOLF as a Championships Manager.

In her new position, Shoemake will oversee day-to-day operations and administration for the department while continuing to lead all women’s championship events.

“Kylie has consistently demonstrated an exceptional work ethic and unwavering dedication to advancing the game of golf in Arizona,” said Logan Rasmussen, AZ GOLF Head of Rules & Competitions. “Her passion for strengthening the women’s game across the state, combined with her ability to serve as a steady and effective administrative force, will continue to elevate our organization and the communities we serve.”

Alicia Barron — Tournament & Programs Coordinator

Barron joins in a unique, collaborative role supporting both AZ GOLF and the Junior Golf Association of Arizona (JGAA). She will assist in coordinating a wide range of tournaments and lead the administration of AZ GOLF’s men’s and women’s Interclub series.

Originally from Texas, Barron played golf at Ranger College and brings both competitive experience and strong interpersonal skills to the role.

“Alicia’s hiring marks an exciting and historic step forward for both AZ GOLF and the JGAA,” Rasmussen said. “As we came together under one roof at Arizona Golf House, this shared position reflects our commitment to collaboration and growth across the game. Alicia brings a vibrant, outgoing personality and exceptional communication skills that immediately stood out throughout the hiring process. Her leadership of new initiatives, especially the AZ GOLF Interclub program, will play a key role in elevating our programs and strengthening the connection between our organizations and with our broad membership base.”
